Natascha Notten currently works as an Assistant Professor at the Radboud University Nijmegen, Department of Sociology. 
Her research interests include social stratification in various domains (e.g.media use, cultural consumption, health and educational inequalities). More specifically, she focusses on family issues, parenting practices and the intergenerational transmission of inequality. Natascha is an expert on parents’ socialization efforts regarding media use and their long-term consequences. 

In September 2011 Natascha successfully defended her PhD thesis entitled: “Parents and the media. Causes and consequences of parental media socialization”. She has published her research in several international and Dutch journals, such as ‘European Sociological Review’, ‘Poetics’, and ‘Mens en Maatschappij’.

From 2011 until 2012 Natascha worked as a Postdoc Researcher at the University of Amsterdam, where se also lectured (master course, Sociology). She collaborated and conducted research within the GINI-project (Growing INequalities’ Impacts), especially concerning the social and cultural impacts of inequality.
Natascha studied Sociology at the Radboud University Nijmegen (MA with distinction, 2005), where she worked at the Department of Sociology, as a member of the Interuniversity Centre for Social Science Theory and Methodology (ICS). Next to her research activities, she was also involved as a lecturer in several courses, both at the Department of Sociology and the Institute of Pedagogy and Education of the Radboud University.
